Organized by UP Los Baños and the UPLB Alumni Association (UPLBAA), the activity aimed at generating support for programs to protect the Mt. Makiling Forest Reserve (MFR) and other areas in UPLB for future ecotourism.
MFR is a 4244-ha natural tropical rainforest and a biodiversity hotspot teeming with thousands of plants species, including more woody plant species than can be found in the entire United States. The MFR is the last natural forest in this biogeographical zone, making its conservation imperative.
