UPLB graduates ace various board exams

UPLB has again proved its competence as the most-awaited results from six nationwide board exams were released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Graduates from UPLB has successfully earned their licenses in different fields such as agriculture, chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental planning, and secondary education. Also, some UPLB alumni ended up being topnotchers among all board exam passers.

Licensure Examination for Teachers
Thirty nine UPLB alumni took the examination. Among them, 38 passed the examination, granting the University a passing rate of 97.44%. Graduates from the BS Mathematics and Science Teaching program and other graduates with 18 units of education courses completed are qualified to take the exam.

Agriculturist Licensure Examination
Twenty nine alumni from UPLB took the examination, with 28 examinees passing the exam, giving the University a passing rate of 96.55%. Ten passers secured top spots out of the 28 passers from UPLB. Allan Taniegra Si ranked third (85.33%), while Ana Mikaela Buendia Maravilla, Gladys Saculles Morado and Jecel Alon Saguindan Jr. shared the fifth place (85.00%). Also in top six and seven are Elson Ian Nyl Ebreo Galang (84.83%) and Gene Teri Gevila Casas (84.50%).

Nel Oliver Bautista Mateo is the eighth topnotcher (84.33%). Jomari Badillo Delos Reyes placed ninth (84.17%), while Kohlin Mabborang Lallabban and Ken Guiller Artieda Vicente both ranked tenth (84.00%).

Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination
Thirty six UPLB alumni all passed the examination, making the University gain a 100% passing rate. Six passers managed to grab top ten spots among all the passers. Jenny Rose Vergara Repollo placed second (90.55%). Brian Baltazar Balmores ranked third (89.90%), while John Raymond Boctuanon Lumawag landed in fifth place (88.90%).

Kyle Uy Vosotros took the seventh spot (88.90%), while Ramon Ecleo Ednalaga and Francis George Taganahan Lomad placed eighth (88.75%) and ninth (88.70%) respectively.

Chemical Engineer Licensure Examination
Thirty two passers emerged out of the 36 examinees from UPLB, resulting in a passing rate of 88.89% for the University. UPLB was also honored as one of the top performing school for this current batch of licensure examinees.

Civil Engineer Licensure Examination
Twenty five out of 26 examinees passed the examinations, making the passing rate of the University become 96.15%
Jan Carlo Marcelo Castro landed in third place (93.20%).

Environmental Planner Licensure Examination
Out of 61 examinees from UPLB, fifty passed the licensure examination, garnering a passing rate of 81.97% for the University.
UPLB graduates from the BS Human Ecology (Human Settlements major) with plans of taking or have taken MS or Ph.D. Environmental Sciences are the usual takers of this licensure examination.
