Canadian Ambassador visits UPLB Alumni Center

On the 21st of June 2016, Honorable Neil Reeder and his wife – Ms. Irene Hansen-Reeder, visited the University to meet with the Coalition for Agriculture Modernization in the Philippines, Inc. (CAMP). The intention of the said meeting is to foster camaraderie and expand possible linkages & collaborations for future projects or programs.

CAMP* is founded by men and women from agriculture, agribusiness, industry, academe, government, professional groups, and international organizations. They are volunteers driven by their patriotism to share and contribute their time, expertise, and/or resources in the Agriculture Modernization in the country. Their mission are the following:

  • to advocate, promote, and educate in adopting appropriate agriculture-related policies and improved governance and management systems,
  • focusing on priority market-driven programs in crops, livestock, fisheries and forestry,
  • promoting the generation and adoption of improved technologies for greater productivity and enhanced small farmer and fisherfolk incomes without degrading the environment, and
  • linking agriculture strongly with markets and value-adding industries to be globally competitive.
