Golden Jubilarians hold groundbreaking for Green Latrine

The UP College of Agriculture Class of 1967 led the groundbreaking ceremony for their State-of-the-Art Comfort Rooms project on October 9, 2017 at the UPLBAA Alumni Plaza during the Grand Alumni Homecoming for the 99th UPLB Loyalty Day.

Dr. Ponciano M. Halos, Class ’67 and Chair of Ways and Means Committee, said that the formerly called “Green Latrine Project will use efficient microbes to deodorize the latrines with less water.”

Dr. Romeo B. Obedoza, Jr., Technical Assistant for State Universities and Colleges at the office of Senator Juan Miguel F. Zubiri, is present at the event to represent Senator Zubiri as Guest of Honor. Zubiri reassures his full support of the project in his message delivered by Obedoza.

Also present in the groundbreaking ceremony are UPLB Chancellor Dr. Fernando C. Sanchez, Vice-Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Marish R. Madlangbayan, Class ’67 President Mr. Francisco A. Moog, and the master of ceremony of the event, Outstanding Golden Jubilarian Awardee, and former director of the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR), Dr. Mimosa C. Ocampo.
