The University of the Philippines Los Baños will have an off-campus site through the creation of the UP Professional School for Agriculture and the Environment (UP PSAE) in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

UP PSAE aims to nourish the growth of agriculture in the Davao region. UPLB, as a center of excellence in agriculture and environmental science, hopes to establish competence in the southern part of the Philippines.

Operation of UP PSAE starts in the First Semester of Academic Year (AY) of 2017-2018 where graduate programs and short training courses will be made available. The following year will be the formal opening of the campus. Assistant Professor Anna Floresca F. Firmalino from the College of Economics and Management is the program director of UP PSAE.

After five years, the UP PSAE is projected to be UPLB’s new school, with its own dean and graduate programs.
