UPLB alumnus, new UP Regent

Hon. Francisco Castillo Laurel, BS Agriculture Class of ’69 magna cum laude, is one of the three new members of the UP Board of Regents (BOR) appointed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

Regent Laurel is the President of YKK Philippines, Inc., Toyota Batangas & Camarines Sur, Inc., and the Philippines-Japan Society, Inc. He earned his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Chicago, USA in 1972. He was also conferred the Order of the Rising Sun, Golden Rays with Neck Ribbon by the Japanese government in 2011.

He took his oath of office on the 16th of November 2016 together with Regent Frederick Mikhail Farolan and Regent Angelo Jimenez. As per RA 9500 UP Charter of 2008, they will serve a two-year term.
